Zendaya’s Romantic Low Bun Is Perfect for Summer Date Nights

No hairstyle embodies the feeling of “I don’t feel like doing my hair” more than a low bun. We don’t mean the clean girl slicked-back style—we’re talking about a Founding Fathers-inspired low-bun that you throw togther when you’re running late. It’s not the most inventive look or the most interesting, but leave it to Zendaya to make it all her own (and convince us it’s perfect for hot summer days.)

With the Challengers press tour and the Met Gala behind her, we’d assume Zendaya would deservingly head into hibernation. But, on May 23, she was spotted supporting her boyfriend, Tom Holland, at his new show in London with a little method dressing action. Holland stars as Romeo in Jamie Lloyd’s Romeo and Juliet, and the two were spotted leaving hand-in-hand with Zendaya in a romantic low bun and Juliet-esque dress.

Zendaya can make anything look chic—we already know this, so it was no surprise that the controversial low bun looked stunning on the actress. She pulled her hair to one side in a swoop with her bun tied into an intricate knot. The rest of her beauty also felt on theme. She opted for a darker eyeshadow smoked out on her lid, with a swipe of bronzer on her cheek, and a pretty pink lip. The finishing touch? Her simple black manicure, which added to the moody feel of her outfit.

Her gothic gown and choker tied the method dressing feel of the look together. The 27-year-old styled a puff-sleeve black Vivienne Westwood corseted gown that could have belonged to a Disney villain if not for the context of Romeo and Juliet. Her sweet red choker necklace and cool black Louboutin boots made the look feel edgy and sophisticated.

Zendaya stops at nothing to give us a dose of method dressing when we need it the most, even if it’s not for her own films. If that’s not real love, I don’t know what is.
