Cardi B Went Coquette With Tons of Tiny Hair Bows

Cardi B has it all: She’s hilarious, has a handful of chart-topping singles, and is always willing to experiment with a cool look that will leave us speechless. The 31-year-old is no stranger to a daring manicure (see: her extra-long stone manicure) or hair transformation. Her latest look, however, is a sweet change of pace for the singer.

Before we unpack her look, we have to ask: Was the singer inspired by Chloë Sevigny? Just yesterday, the actor arrived at the FEUD: Capote vs. The Swans panel wearing an extra-long hair bow. Today, May 31, Cardi B posted a video on Instagram wearing extra long black hair styled with a dozen of mini hair bows. Coincidence? I think not.

Although Cardi’s look was relatively simple on paper, the bows make a big statement. Her super long straight hair rested on the back of her thighs, and when she turned around she revealed the dozens of tiny white and blue bows that covered her hair. Even though it feels like the peak of the bow era may be behind us, Cardi’s look is a reminder of how fun the accessory can make any outfit feel.

In the video, Cardi is singing her new song “Wanna Be” which features Megan Thee Stallion and Glorilla. The singer wears a yellow vest with a striped blue button-up layered underneath, and a mini grey pleated skirt. She accessorized with knee-high tartan socks and a Hermes bag. The whole outfit felt very Miu Miu-esque, while the hair was reminiscent of Sandy Liang’s Fall/Winter 23 show.

For glam, the singer opted for her signature style as of late. She wore skinny ’90s-inspired brows with smoky eyeshadow and long wispy lashes. Her cheeks were dusted with a Barbie pink blush and her brown lip liner and nude lip gloss topped off the look.

With two icons cosigning bows for summer, we’re hooked. While fashion may be stepping out of it’s bow era, the sweet accessory is ready for it’s beauty close-up.
