Sabrina Carpenter’s Studded French Tips Are the Real Star of Her “Please Please Please” Video

Sabrina Carpenter is the moment. Beyond her ultra feminine, sweet fashion choices and relatable lyrics, we love Sabrina for her consistency—especially when it comes to her nails. She regularly puts a contemporary spin on classic styles namely, her go-to French manicure.

On June 6, Carpenter released her highly-anticipated, “Please Please Please” music video. The story follows the familiar good girl meets bad boy trope where Carpenter is evolving but her partner isn’t. Starring Irish actor Barry Keoghan, the video also served as a hard-launch for the duo’s rumored relationship. While the internet was focused on her co-star, we were distracted by her studded Fench manicure.

The video begins with a scene of the Espresso Queen being released from jail when she has a love-at-first sight moment with an incoming inmate. The following scenes show Keoghan’s bad-boy tendencies ending in several arrests, each time with Carpenter picking him up from jail in a different outfit. She transitions from an excited girlfriend eager to hug her partner to an annoyed one rolling her eyes. But don’t worry, she comes out on top in the end.

We got the best look at her cutesy mani when she’s checking out Keoghan’s bruised eye from a brawl in the previous scene. For the Quentin Tarantino-esque music video, Sabrina wore her traditional French tips at a long length. Most likely the work of her go-to nail artist, Zola Ganzorist, she went with an almond shape, with a classic nude base and white tip. Little crystals are placed at random around each nail. The studs have a dreamy effect that’s perfectly in line with her girly aesthetic.

The nails and glam were both consistent in each scene. Makeup artist Kali Kennedy, put together a glowy glam with pink blush and a dramatic cat-eye for Sabrina’s looks. Her lips were lined and filled in with a glossy, mauve color. She does wear two other lip looks: in the first scene she applies the Prada Beauty Balm in Astral Pink ($50), and in the final scene she wears red lipstick, a testament to taking her power back in the story. Hair stylist Evanie Frausto styled Sabrina’s blonde hair in soft, voluminous curls and in one scene, a messy updo reminiscent of Pamela Anderson.

Directed by Bardia Zeinali, the video has potentially furthered Sabrina’s climb to icon status. Fans, including Bella Hadid, have reacted on every platform imaginable. “Please Please Please” is one of the songs on her eighth album, “Short N’ Sweet” which releases August 23.
