When getting ready to leave the house, a tried-and-true outfit or a dot of concealer can be the key to feeling put-together, even if you’re running late or having a bad hair day. This same attitude extends to nails—ask anyone and they’ll tell you that even the subtlest glossy top coat can make the difference between feeling polished or not (pun intended). If you needed a sign to finally hop on the low-maintenance manicure, look no further than Eva Longoria’s sheer milky nails that added a refined touch of shine.
Longoria attended Vogue World’s buzzy kick-off event to Paris Fashion Week (don’t ask us what Vogue World is—we still don’t know). The actress, who is currently promoting her new Apple TV+ series Land of Women, arrived wearing a simple LBD with an equally as simple manicure.
For the event, Longoria’s almond-shaped nails were painted with a very thin coat of polish. It’s tough to tell in the photos, but we’d wager it’s a sheer coat of a nude or white shade, which gives the nails their glossy shine. The milky manicure trend is reminiscent of the no-makeup makeup look—its natural but enhanced effect is achieved by a very subtle wash of polish. It’s the ideal manicure when you want to add an extra touch of put-togetherness to your outfit without making a colorful statement.
The Desperate Housewives alum paired her soft manicure with a ’90s-esque spaghetti strap black gown from Alexandre Vauthier that had a pretty rhinestone-encrusted neckline and straps. She was dressed by stylist Maeve Reilly.
Makeup artist James Molloy crafted Longoria’s soft glam with a glowy complexion complimented by pink blush that was applied to the apples of her cheeks. The statement of her makeup was a smoky eye look which she paired with fluttery black lashes. She finished off her makeup with a swipe of lip gloss.
If you needed a sign to hop on the minimalist manicure trend for summer, this is it. We’ll be re-creating Longoria’s nails all summer long.
