Lady Gaga Paired Her Platinum Bob With Black Bangs

Brace yourselves: Chunky, skunk-like highlights are starting to make a comeback, at least, among the celebrity set that is. Rihanna debuted Y2K highlights at Paris Fashion Week, Miley Cyrus transformed into her Hannah Montana alter ego with bold blonde streaks, and Lady Gaga has been experimenting with platinum blonde hair and stark black highlights. Gaga’s latest hair transformation is yet again making the case for a summer of bold highlights.

ICYMI: Gaga has been performing her Jazz and Piano concerts in Vegas, and, as per usual, is bringing her avant grade style to the stage. At a previous show, each outfit was styled with a unique feather mohawk worn on top of her updo. Last night, she styled her platinum hair in a bob with jet-black bangs and a bold red lip for a Gaga take on Hollywood glamour.

On June 27, Gaga posted a story to her Instagram after her concert, showing off her look of the night which featured a sequined dress with feather details. She paired the dress with her newly-signature platinum blonde hair styled in a straight bob. The front sections of her hair were dyed jet black, creating a headband-like illusion with reverse money piece highlights.

Along with her black-and-white hair was an equally as interesting makeup look. The 38-year-old wore graphic eyeliner that created the illusion of long, cartoon-like lashes around the bottom and top of her lash line. On her actual eyelid, she wore a thick black cat-eye eyeliner. Her complexion was glowy and radiant, with just a touch of pink blush on her cheeks. She finished the look off with a statement red lip that matched her classic red manicure.

Skunk hair, money pieces, and chunky highlights are all nostalgic, early aughts styles, and although Y2K fashion has taken a step back, it seems as though the era is having a moment in hair (see: the Millenial side-part taking over). Nevertheless, Gaga has spoken: Chunky highlights are officially back.
