Mix your mattes with a bold striped design. To DIY this (fairly easy) art, simply apply your base coat and the desired number of coats of your lighter shade to the entire nail and let it dry completely. Then, place a piece of tape down the middle of the nail so that half of it is covered (be sure it’s straight, as this will be your line of demarcation between the colors) and paint as many coats as you want of the darker shade on the exposed nail. Let it dry, peel off the tape, and finish off with your mattifying top coat.
