Meghan Markle Tried the Cloud Nail Trend at the ESPY Awards

The ESPYS, ESPN’s sports award show, took place last night in Los Angeles and there was no shortage of chic style and beauty moments. And, it was a Royal affair: Prince Harry was set to be honored with the Pat Tillman Award for service, which meant we were in for a rare appearance from both the Duke and Dutchess of Sussex. Meghan Markle’s polished style is always a source of inspiration, and this time she cosigned one of summer’s biggest minimal manicure trends.

Markle is basically the poster child for low-key manicures. The Dutchess’s laidback California style and minimalist, put-together wardrobe is the perfect pairing for an easygoing nail look. For the event, she arrived in a sleek ballerina bun and a bridal-esque white gown with matching cloud nails.

If you aren’t familiar, cloud nails are a modern take on the classic white manicure that often has a sheer, glossy finish. Her natural nails were crafted into an oval shape and a short length. She wore an off-white, semi-sheer milky polish that looked almost nude (think: your nails but better). An added top coat gave the cloud nails a subtle glow that matched her glowy makeup look.

Her radiant, soft glam was courtesy of makeup artist Daniel Martin, who achieved her glowy complexion using Tatcha products to prep her skin. Markle looked like she just returned from a beach getaway: Her sunkissed glow was created with a touch of bronzer, pink blush, and a pink plush lip gloss. Fluttery lashes and the touch of shimmer on her eyeshadow added a glamorous feel.

Meghan Markle may be the Dutchess of Sussex, but there’s no doubt she’s soon-to-be the queen of minimalist manicures. Her soft cloud nails are just another easy minimalist nail look we’re copying all summer long.
