Jennifer Lopez Co-Signs The Naked French Manicure For Summer

Anyone who has done it knows that growing out your natural nails is, to put it lightly, a pain. That said, after all that growth you’ll likely end up covering them with a coat of polish, so no one knows it’s your natural nails anyway. Thankfully, Jennifer Lopez’s newest manicure might finally give natural nails their moment in the spotlight.

On July 20, Lopez posted a slideshow of smiley unbothered selfies on Instagram with her new nails front and center. The 54-year-old decided to hop on the minimalist manicure train and opted for a subtle French manicure that enhanced the color of her natural nails, putting a refined twist on the classic nail design.

If these are Lopez’s natural nails, they looked as healthy as ever. And, if they’re not, props to her manicurist (we’d wager these come from Tom Bachik’s genius) for creating the perfect your-nails-but-better manicure. Her almond-shaped nails were crafted into a medium length for her naked French manicure. A pinky beige polish that refined her natural color blurred the definition between the whites of her nails for a more laidback twist on polished French tips. You could just barely see the natural whites of her nails which created an ombré effect. A coat of pearly shine was the final touch to her barely-there manicure.

The naked French manicure balances the current minimalist nail craze with the everlasting power of the classic manicure. Co-signed by Hailey Bieber, Anne Hathaway, and now J.Lo, the trendy nails have become a new evergreen staple, but are particularly easygoing for summer.

She paired a white tank top with gold jewelry (including a pair of chunky Chanel hoops) and a slick-backed bun. Her soft-glam makeup included bronzy eyeshadow, sleek cat-eye black eyeliner, and a glossy nude lip.
