Sofia Raffaeli Milena Baldassarri Vogue Italia July 2024

Editions of Vogue from across the globe still insist on getting us hyped for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The excitement and celebrations for the upcoming international multi-sport event (set the commence July 26) started back in May, when Vogue France gave up its cover to Gigi Hadid ahead of the Vogue World: Paris extravaganza (which celebrated 100 years of fashion and sport). Anna Wintour has since later endorsed Sha’Carri Richardson via American Vogue‘s digital cover, Katarina Johnson-Thompson posed on British Vogue‘s digital offering and Team Australia currently fronts Vogue Australia’s latest. Now, Francesca Ragazzi at Vogue Italia is endorsing Sofia Raffaeli and Milena Baldassarri, with the decorated Italian gymnast duo posing for Bea De Giacomo on Italian Vogue‘s digital installment for July 2024.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Why can’t they have models pretending to be athletes like before?” asked alwaysademo.

“Because everyone deserves a Vogue cover now. It simply must be done,” laughed MyNameIs in response.

“At least Vogue Italia is aware that fashion people couldn’t care less about sports and put this stuff on digital issues…” shared a deeply disinterested avonlea002.

Blueorchid commented: “I don’t mind athletes on the cover of magazines at all. Usually they have more accomplishments than someone like, oh… Suki Waterhouse. However, you can tell how little the industry thinks of these athletes by having them look like that. It’s pretty insulting, really.”
