Zoë Kravitz Put the Daintiest Twist on Summer’s Fruit Nails Trend

Zoë Kravitz is the definition of chic. Whenever she steps out for an event or dinner with beau Channing Tatum, you can bet her outfit will end up on your mood board. The actor’s style is a touch mysterious but always refined, just like her latest manicure, which was a nod to her new film, Blink Twice.

On August 8, Kravitz arrived at the Los Angeles premiere of the film wearing a sleek, (you guessed it) all-black ensemble consisting of a Saint Laurent dress, heels, and a bold red lip. If you blinked (we couldn’t help it), you would have missed her teeny-tiny nail art. Posted by her manicurist to Instagram, the nails featured a milky base with a cute little hand-painted raspberry on each of her pointer fingers.

Crafted by celebrity manicurist Bettina Goldstein, Kravitz’s natural nails were painted with a milky beige sheen that glimmered in the light. The obvious stand-out of the nails were the little raspberries, both placed on the top corners of the nail. While the nails feel like the perfect minimalist twist on summer’s fruit nail trend, launched by Hailey Bieber’s “farmers’ market nails,” it’s a nod to the movie’s poster. The poster is a zoomed-in photo of someone eating a berry with the phrase “Are you having a good time?” Slightly elusive and cool, the nails felt like Kravitz to a T.

Similar to her nails, her beauty had a less-is-more approach. To pair with the all-black outfit, the newly-minted director (Blink Twice is her directorial debut) opted for a poppy-hued lipstick that added a touch of eye-catching color. The rest of her makeup consisted of bushy brows and a bronzy complexion with a winged eyeliner, created by makeup artist Nina Park. Her slicked-back bun, courtesy of hairstylist Nicki Nelms, was the final touch.

Stylist Andrew Mukamal styled Kravitz’s black dress with minimal accessories including starfish diamond earrings, another hint to the movie’s plot. Quick refresher: The film takes place on Channing Tatums’ character’s—a creepy tech billionaire—luxurious private island, where nothing is as it seems. The thriller is set to release later this month.

For another press event, Goldstein painted a similar manicure featuring a creepy bleeding smiley face on the 35-year-old’s natural nails. Did her nails drum up some slight method-dressing movie intrigue? 100%. But, even if they had nothing to do with the movie, they still felt authentic to Kravitz’s style, proof that the best method dressing is in the details (and manicures).
