Lady Gaga Traded her Jet Black Hair for Bright Platinum

Blink twice and Lady Gaga might’ve changed her entire aesthetic. One minute, she’s wearing Dior Haute Couture at the opening ceremony for the Olympics, the next, she’s sporting long, jet-black hair to tease her new single with Bruno Mars. Her latest hair change, however, goes back to her Old-Hollywood platinum blonde roots.

On September 2, Gaga arrived in Italy for the Venice Film Festival, looking as chic as ever in a glamorous polka dot dress and long blonde hair. You never know with Gaga, but fans expected the ’70s grungy cowboy aesthetic she tried on for “Die With a Smile” to be a turning point from her Marilyn Monroe-esque beauty and style. Yet, her latest look says otherwise, and she’s back to her classic platinum blonde.

Gaga’s platinum blonde color is exactly what it sounds like, and It’s blindingly bright. For her arrival with fiancé Michael Polansky, Gaga swept her hair back into a half-updo, pulling the front pieces into a pretty knot. The rest of her blonde hair was curled in loose ringlets and rested on her chest.

Although her black square sunnies covered most of her face, her glam featured coral pink lipgloss and radiant, rosy cheeks that shined just as bright as her icy blonde hair. To finish the look off she wore a barely-there bubble bath-esque manicure that was the perfect pairing to her rock of an engagement ring.

ICYMI: The 38-year-old is starring in the new Joker: Folie à Deux movie, hence her presence at the film festival. In the film, Gaga puts her own spin on the role of Harley Quinn, which Margot Robbie played before.

A jet-black Gaga would have been iconic, although her signature blonde always looks stunning. Little Monsters, it’s up to you to decode what Gaga’s new hair change means, but we’d wager its just her comfort color.
