Molly Gordon Channeled ’90s Supermodels at the Emmy Awards

Last night, the Emmy Awards returned to their fall timing, and the looks did not disappoint. A clear theme? Long, gorgeous hair, and classic glamour. A shining example was The Bear cast member Molly Gordon, who hit the carpet in a plunging black gown and cascading mermaid waves by Derek Yuen. Though her hair grabbed our immediate attention, her sultry rosy makeup is worth a second glance, and is a look we’ll be copying all fall long. Luckily for us, Gordon’s makeup artist, Melissa Hernandez, told us exactly how to get the look.

“Inspired by the effortless allure of ’90s supermodel beauty, I enhanced the natural beauty of the skin while adding subtle touches of glamour to complement Molly’s elegant, vintage Versace dress,” Hernandez tells Byrdie. “We went with fresh skin, winged liner, and a deep rosy lip.”

A key to the fresh skin was prepping Gordon’s skin with the Bio-Therapeutic bt-sculpt microcurrent tool. “This advanced device helps tone and firm the skin by stimulating facial muscles, increasing circulation, and enhancing product absorption. It’s perfect for creating a lifted, sculpted look with a healthy glow.” Then, Hernandez applied a hydrating serum and “sealed everything in with a rich moisturizer, giving her skin that flawless finish.”

She kept the glow going with the Chanel Baume Essentiel in Perlescent, which she tapped onto the high points of the actor’s face. “It gives that ‘lit-from-within’ glow without any shimmer overload. The key here is to use your fingers to melt the product into the skin for a natural, radiant finish.”

For the eyes, the artist gave Gordon a subtle cat eye using Chanel’s Stylo Yeux Waterproof in 88. “My tip here is to always extend the flick slightly past the outer corner, then use a fine brush to perfect the line for a crisp, polished look,” she shares. “The lips were all about balance and longevity with the Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue in 48. It’s a stunning deep rose that doesn’t budge. Pro Tip: After applying the color, wait a minute for it to set before applying the gloss. This ensures a beautiful shine without losing the staying power.”

Her final touch before Gordon hit the carpet? “I tapped the Baume Essentiel onto her décolletage for a fresh, healthy glow.”
