Halle Berry’s Caramel Latte Highlights Are the Perfect Fall Hair Inspo

The change of seasons is the ideal time for a hair refresh. Switching it up signals a fresh start—in summer, it’s common to go lighter, and in fall, dark mocha and cherry shades reign supreme. Halle Berry, however, is mixing it up with an unexpected change as we head into autumn.

Berry is a bonafide hair chameleon—she’s tried bobs, buzzcuts, pixies, the list could go on—so her latest change may not feel like much. As of recently, she’s been sporting a cute short curly bob, but ahead of the fall season, the actor was spotted in New York with new bright highlights.

Light highlights for fall feel like an oxymoron, but Berry’s new color change is autumnal in all the best ways. She kept the same length and blended the ends to light latte-esque color for a pretty contrast from her typical chocolate brown shade. A week ago, Berry posted a cozy close-up with the new hair on Instagram (featuring her cute cat Boots), and on September 17 at the premiere of her new film Never Let Go, her new color was front and center. In the light, her highlights glowed. There isn’t a starting point on her head where the new color begins—instead, the light brown color melts into the rest of her curls for a seamless mixture of the two shades.

Throughout the press tour for the new film, Berry has kept her go-to soft glam, and her look for the premiere was no different. She wore a shimmery autumn-toned gown with bronzy makeup and a soft manicure to match.

Throughout 2023, the actor donned an asymmetrical cut but has since landed on the versions of a bob throughout this year—she’s styled a longer lob with bangs, for example, that had touches of light highlights throughout the hair. Her latest latte highlights prove sometimes less is more, and how a very subtle change can still pack just as much of a punch.
