Lady Gaga’s Patent Leather Nails Will Be Your Fall Go-To

When Lady Gaga arrived at the Joker Folie à Deux UK premiere, we knew it was the start of her villain era—at least fashion-wise. The multi-hyphenate transformed into her character with a chic cherry cola bob and custom red Celine gown, but the more low-key details, like her patent leather nails, were also key to her method dressing debut.

September 25 kicked off what we assume will be Gaga’s method dressing press tour, complete with Harley Quinn-inspired fashion and beauty looks. Although you couldn’t have missed her new bob—which featured bright red streaks and messy fringed bangs—her nails were surprisingly pared-back.

Since the hair and dress deserved it own moment, the decision to stick to a simple manicure makes sense. Still, the plain back glossy polish and short length felt perfectly simple for the look. Her patent leather nails (the black gloss looks like an expensive pair of leather shoes) were crafted on what looks like her natural length and added an edgy feel to her glam.

Black nails are a go-to moody option year-round, but it’s looking like the plain black, short-length combination will be a major trend this fall. The Indie Sleaze revival is giving the style a boost, plus, it has co-signs from the likes of Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid, and now, Lady Gaga.

As for the rest of her glam; Gaga’s turquoise eyeshadow and gemstone bedazzled teardrop will go down in the red carpet beauty history books. The red lipstick as a matching touch to her dress was the cherry on top.
