Addison Rae’s VMA black carpet lingerie outfit is exuding a “Like a Virgin” vibe as she blends vintage Madonna and bridal chic in an all-white moment. Flashing her toned abs, Rae wore a custom-made feathered bra and underwear with half a tutu to attend the NYC event on September 11. The TikTok influencer-turned-singer’s ensemble for the award show is a reminder of Madonna’s iconic 1984 performance of her track “Like a Virgin.” Moreover, it seems like the ensemble is a tribute to Madonna’s 2003 remake of the same song with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
Addison Rae adds tutu to structured lingerie for 2024 VMAs look
Addison Rae donned a custom-made Miss Claire Sullivan structured lingerie set, topping it off with a tutu for the 2024 MTV VMAs look. Rae graced the red carpet on Wednesday in an all-white swan-like ensemble comprising a satin bra adorned with feathers and undies decorated with a tutu and more feathers. She told MTV, “This ole thing? This is Miss Claire Sullivan, and it’s custom.”
Rae’s outfit was partially an ode to Madonna’s 1984 performance of “Like a Virgin.” According to People Magazine, “a little bit of ‘Diet Pepsi,’” her new single, and “a little bit Madonna” inspired her look. Besides, it is also a nod to the Queen of Pop’s 2003 recreation of the moment with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. The 23-year-old singer also channeled the bridal look trend similar to what other stars, including Anitta and Sabrina Carpenter, wore to the event.
In a fan-girling moment, Addison Rae applauded Spears’ bold MTV VMAs looks over the years. She said, “My favorite VMAs looks of all time are probably every single time Britney came on and performed, but especially when she did ‘Satisfaction’ [at the 2000 VMAs].” Spears and Rae both share the same roots as Louisiana natives.
Rae, who gained fame as a TikTok influencer, has now ventured into the music industry after her collab with Charli XCX for a “Von Dutch” remix in March. Last month, she released another track titled “Diet Pepsi,” and unsurprisingly, the song has a Madonna reference. The dancer also teased more songs, telling MTV that she is “writing a lot of stuff” and “working on more music,” asking fans to “stay tuned!”
