Anya Taylor-Joy Proves Red Lipstick Is the Only Makeup You Need This Summer

The Cannes Film Festival just kicked off this week, and the beauty and style moments have not disappointed. Anya Taylor-Joy, who is promoting her new film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga touched down in the sunny French Riveria and traded her sci-fi style for something a bit softer. Instead of spiky dresses and metallic armor, Taylor-Joy transformed into a relaxed, beachside bride.

On May 14, Taylor-Joy was seen leaving her hotel in Cannes, and how could you miss her? The actress donned a sheer gauzy gown with the silhouette of a strapless bathing suit underneath from Jacquemus. The dress with dotted with 3D floral appliqués, and she paired it with strappy white sandals and an equally as traffic-stopping hat, also from Jacquemus. But, the cherry on top of her look was her bright red lipstick.

In the otherwise neutral outfit, Taylor-Joy’s pop of red lipstick is the perfect wash of color. The actress opted for a satin red formula and kept the rest of her makeup pared back with just a swipe of black mascara. The actor often works with makeup artist Georgie Eisdell, but the simple look could also have been the work of Taylor-Joy herself. However, Eisdell did reveal on her Instagram story earlier this morning that for the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga premier, Taylor-Joy would be wearing lots of Dior Beauty products.

Before resuming her new role as a French Riveria bride, Taylor-Joy was spotted earlier in the day wearing the same simple red lip, but this time, she styled her large Jacquemus hat with sunglasses and a burnt-orange dress. If you don’t remember, Jacquemus’ giant hat took over the internet in 2018 as a must-have item spotted on everyone from Emily Ratajowski to Kendall Jenner wearing it, and Taylor-Joy is making a case for its comeback.
