It’s safe to say that Ariana Grande has had a big 2024—and we aren’t even halfway through the year yet. In March, after a nearly four-year hiatus from music, she released her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine. Then, in November, Grande appears in the hotly anticipated release of part one of Wicked. To promote the film, the songstress has been hitting all of this season’s awards shows with co-star Cynthia Erivo. And the 2024 Met Gala was not left off of Ari’s calendar.
Arriving on the coincidentally “Ozian” green stairs of the Met, Grande wore a showstopping Loewe gown. The double corset tieback, mother-of-pearl bodice hits the top of the star’s hips, seamlessly transitioning into an opalescent chiffon skirt with a Grecian-style drape. With subtle shades of powder blue, pale pink, and mint green reflecting in the light, the dress is reminiscent of the bubble that Grande’s character, Glinda, often manifests and uses as transportation during Wicked.
For glam, Ari is serving her signature high ponytail, slicked back and deeply parted. This hairstyle allows for the delicate “fairy wings” decorating the outer corners of her eyes to shine. A pink pearlescent lid with a soft brown crease keeps the eyeshadow look from overpowering the whimsical wings, which are further emphasized by dramatic contouring. Grande wears a glossy pink lip and a classic French manicure in a long squoval shape for final touches.
While we have to wait a few more seasons to see Ari on the big screen again, this look is certainly keeping our Glinda fantasies fed.
