It was Bella Hadid’s week. After a two-year hiatus from the Cannes Film Festival, the 27-year-old landed in the South of France with fairy godmother fashion magic that the festival needed. It’s hard to believe the list of style feats she’s accomplished just this week: She wore a sheer YSL dress with a matching latte brown manicure, channeled her inner office siren with a vintage Versace mini-dress and a business bun, and yesterday, she styled a keffiyeh dress and a milky manicure. But she saved her best, most glamorous look of all for last.
On May 23, Hadid attended the L’Amour Ouf (Beating Hearts) premiere. For the event, she wore a black 2001 Versace Spring Haute Couture gown that had a sheer bodice and sequin skirt. She kept her subtle milky manicure and paired it with diamond Chopard earrings, and swapped her off-duty bun for a slicked-back curly updo with twisted ringlets.
Hairstylist Bryce Scarlett slicked her hair back into a tight bun and styled pieces into flouncy curls. Her updo was giving high-fashion meets ’90s prom queen in the best way. As for the rest of her beauty, Hadid worked with makeup artist Nadia Tayeh to create a soft glam look. She styled wispy lashes with a thin cat-eye liner that felt equal parts sultry and sweet. Her flushed, bronzy complexion was the quintessential Bella Hadid glow.
Influencer Cyrus Veyssi commented on Tayeh’s close-up of the glam “Face card that will never decline!!!”
It’s official: Bella Hadid is back. In a flurry of slicked-buns, flippy bobs, and bouncy blowouts, Hadid’s pretty updo is a fun, elevated style that we’ll be (attempting) to copy all summer long.
