You could argue Vogue France is the most consistent out of the Euro editions of Vogue. The publication’s head of editorial content Eugénie Trochu has made some big strides installed at the top job, having welcomed the likes of Laetitia Casta, Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, Victoria Beckham and Sophie Marceau as cover subjects subsequent to the French fashion bible becoming Vogue France in 2021.
Trochu’s latest accomplishment is securing none other than Céline Dion as cover star, who graces the recently-unveiled May 2024 offering. Marking the iconic Canadian songstress’ very first Vogue cover appearance (crazy, we know!), Céline poses before the lens of photographer Cass Bird across a duo of collectable covers. In cover one (below), Bird captures “The Queen of Power Ballads” in full color, as Law Roach styles Céline in a voluminous pink Alaïa coat and a crisp white Balenciaga shirt for the second black and white cover (after the jump).
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“I mean, I love Céline Dion and I’m happy to see her doing some press after everything she’s been through, but they could’ve picked a better team, huh? Law did her dirty!” exclaimed thiago.
“What the hell. The styling! She deserves better so much better,” GivenchyAddict added.
“I can’t believe this is her first Vogue cover. It’s crazy considering how Céline Dion has always showed an interest in fashion and her style has always been great – especially in the 90s. Back to the actual cover, it’s quite underwhelming. It’s not atrocious but it also doesn’t do much,” shared THD96.

“All for Céline Dion landing the cover of Vogue but this is atrocious. Cass Bird’s photography (as to be expected) is amateur beyond belief and the styling from Law Roach ain’t much better, beyond underwhelming. Absolutely loathe how Céline’s wearing that Alaïa coat,” ranted vogue28.
