Claudia Sulewski Wore the Sun-Kissed Blush Trend to the Patou Couture Show

Paris Couture Week is in full swing—Vogue World kicked off the festivities off with an exuberant celebration of fashion history, and, as usual, icons like Rihanna and Kerry Washington made appearances throughout the week. The collections, clothes, and celebrity sightings are always stunning, but Fashion Week always leaves us wondering, what is attending a show really like? Well, you don’t have to imagine any longer: Content creator Claudia Sulewski took us behind the scenes of her getting ready process for the Patou Spring / Summer 2025 Couture collection.

Sulewski, a content creator, actor, and newly minted beauty-founder tells Byrdie that her getting-ready ritual starts with “listening to calmer music as days like these tend to feel rushed and hectic,” she chose Feist for the occasion. As the founder of skincare brand Cyklar, the 28-year-old emphasizes the importance of skin prep before getting her makeup done, calling it “the most important step.” She adds that “the night before, I’ll wear a thick cream to bed to make sure I’m super moisturized on the day.” In the morning, she’ll opt for a sheet mask to “lock it in” and will make sure to wear sunscreen under her makeup.

Makeup artist Leslie Dumeix tells Byrdie that “Claudia came with a clear vision for her makeup,” and that the actor’s glam was inspired by the brown ochre color of her bag. “We used this as a starting point, focusing on creating a cohesive look that complemented her outfit,” Dumex says. Sulewski’s skin was radiant and dewy, and she looked as though she just touched down from a tropical getaway. Dumeix complimented her sun-kissed glow with a bronzy, chic eyeshadow. “The eyes were the focal point, with the rich brown ochre shade adding depth and warmth. I also thought that strong lashes would make her eyes pop out even more.”

This summer’s vibrant blush trend also inspired Sulewski’s glow. “By using a vibrant blush, we achieved that radiant, sun-kissed effect that is perfect for summer,” Dumeix shared. “The combination of the bold eyes and the strong blush created a balanced, trendy look that is both modern and elegant.”

Sulewski’s look was the quintessential no-makeup makeup look. “I love finding small ways to amp up my natural features without looking like there’s too much on my face,” she shared. To craft her look Dumeix paid close attention to the eyeshadow, applying generous layers of the shade and blending it all in with a fluffy brush to avoid harsh lines. “Additionally, we layered several coats of mascara, allowing each layer to dry in between for maximum volume and length.”

Next, Dumeix went in with blush and bronzer. “We opted for a vibrant orange blush to capture that trendy summer glow,” she shared. “To add more intensity, I mixed in a bit of bronzer, creating a rich, sun-kissed effect. A great tip is to apply the blush slightly higher on the cheeks and blend it towards the temples. This technique not only enhances the natural contours of the face but also provides a lifted, youthful appearance.”

To achieve the actor’s glow-from-within, Dumeix used a light-reflecting highlighter on the high-points of her skin. “For shimmery products like this, I prefer to apply with my fingers. This method allows for better control and a more intense glow, as the warmth of your fingers helps to blend the product seamlessly into the skin.”

Sulewski complimented her glowy makeup look with voluminous curls (with an emphasis on volume) that illuminated her blonde and brown highlights. “For hair, we wanted to get a little wilder,” she shared.

For her outfit, Sulewski stuck to a timeless summer formula: A crisp white button-down and denim skirt. “I love an excuse to wear glossy white pumps, and I will actually never stop thinking about my denim skirt. It has the most perfect silhouette with gold buckle detailing at the waist,” she added. In three words, she described her look as “chic, comfortable, and timeless”—we couldn’t agree more.

“My look makes me feel very me! Sometimes you just know the moment you step into an outfit, and I definitely felt that way today,” said Sulewski.
