Dakota Fanning’s Milky Nails Went With 3 Very Different Summer Outfits

ICMYI: Everyone is wearing a milky manicure right now. And, by everyone, we mean your favorite A-list style icons like Jennifer Aniston, Bella Hadid, Anne Hathaway, Kaia Gerber—the list could truly go on and on. Why, you might ask, is everyone obsessed with the nail trend? That would be because it’s so simple and there are a million different ways to wear it and make it your own. If you still aren’t convinced of its laidback appeal, Dakota Fanning just styled the manicure with not one, not two, but three looks while in New York.

The sign of a great manicure is that it can be worn seamlessly with anything in your wardrobe. That’s not to say we don’t love a bold manicure, but sometimes the simplest styles can be the most effective. On June 3, Fanning was seen out and about in the city in two pretty sundresses that were paired with her milky mani.

The actor’s nails are the epitome of the perfect milky manicure. The color is slightly off-white in a creamy, milky shade and it seems as though she painted the color on her natural oval-shaped nail beds. While some opt for a sheer version of the nails, Fanning’s layer of polish is opaque with an ultra-glassy topcoat.

Fanning wore her manicure with a quiet-luxury-inspired asymmetrical black dress with matching black leather Mary Janes. She accessorized with square black sunnies that had an orange tint and a woven purse. On the same day, she swapped her monochromatic black look for a floral sundress and metallic silver heels with the milky mani still intact.

The 30-year-old kept her glam simple, wearing her blonde hair down and opting for a no-makeup makeup look.

This morning, on June 4, Fanning was spotted again in New York at The Today Show to promote her new movie Watchers in a bright butter yellow vested set with the same woven bag and sunnies. Of course, her milky manicure was a constant and proved to be the finishing touch to her look.

It’s official, the milky manicure is just as much as a summer staple as your favorite linen set and a sundress.
