Supermodels are essentially just another, more fashionable version on the superhero. Some may argue fighting flying villains is hard, and I’d argue mastering the editorial flippy bob is harder. Just ask Gigi Hadid, who opted into the method dressing fun with best friend Blake Lively for the premiere of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine. Hadid’s look was a high-fashion ode to Wolverine with a yellow Miu Miu ensemble and editorial side-bob swirl.
On July 22, Hadid and Lively stole the show at the film’s premiere in New York, appearing hand-in-hand and method-dressing as the characters in the movie. Hadid’s take on Hugh Jackman’s character was well thought out from head to toe (her black nails had a yellow slash detail, for example). Our favorite part? Her singular dramatic curl.
The 29-year-old crafted her newly-chopped hair into a perfectly curled flippy bob, with the ends of her hair defying gravity, curling outward into a sleek flip. She parted her hair to one side, creating a dramatic swoop that curled inward, paying homage to Wolverine’s messy cowlick. The rest of her glam was bronzed and glowy, with a subtle black cat eye liner, bronzy eyeshadow, and coral lipstick adding a sunkissed feel.
The Guest in Residence founder’s spin on Wolverine’s yellow superhero suit included a canary Miu Miu Spring 2024 ensemble, consisting of a summery bandana silhouette tube top and bubble skirt. She accessorized with wooden bangles, a Miu Miu bag (complete with bag charms), and dangly gold jewelry.
Gigi Hadid: You saved the fashion day. Would the Deadpool and Wolverine premiere be as fashionable without her and Lively’s presence? We think not. Her flippy bob has nearly convinced us to head to the theaters (and definitely to the salon).
