Hailey Bieber Just Cosigned Brown Nails for Fall

When it comes to manicure trends, Hailey Bieber is practically our North Star. Of course, there’s a handful of stylish celebrities with an eye for chic nail looks, but Bieber’s influence is like no other. And, if she’s declaring we enter our fall era, cue the hot lattes and cozy knitwear. The new mom just debuted her first fall nails of the season, and they’re low-key unexpected.

In the past few years, chocolate brown coats, boots, and manicures have made their way back to the mainstream as soon as the weather dips below 65. Every fall the rich shade is a constant—it’s reminiscent of supple suede and hot chocolate, always elevating every outfit and glam. This year, however, Bieber is making the case for a new hue of brown: A lighter, chestnut shade.

The Rhode founder posted a close look at her new manicure on Instagram on September 3. She snapped a picture of her almond-shaped nails painted with the shade to her story, captioning it “Ready for fall over here.” The warm-toned brown is similar to the color of amber leaves or tortoiseshell, and feels like a brand new shade we’ve yet to see on Bieber.

It’s just not Bieber who is co-signing lighter brown shades for fall. Selena Gomez donned a “toffee” manicure over the weekend featuring a soft caramel polish color, putting her stamp of approval on the trend. Meaning, you’re likely to see light brown manicures all fall long.

Although the exact polish color of Bieber’s new nails hasn’t been revealed, Olive & June’s Tip Your Barista and Gelcare’s Girlscout are a pretty close match. To get the look at home, start by filing your nails into your desired shape, and apply two coats of polish. It’s that easy.
