Anyone who knows me can tell you that I’m a summer girl through and through. As someone with an August birthday who grew up by the beach, I spend most of the year counting down until June when I can enjoy my weekends swimming in the Long Island Sound and lounging in the sun (while frequently reapplying SPF, of course). It should come as no surprise, then, that I have a bit of a weakness when it comes to buying bikinis. As of my most recent count, I am the owner of 78 (!!) swimsuits.
Whether I should be proud or embarrassed of the staggering size of my swimsuit collection is up for debate, but one thing is certain—I’m uniquely qualified to offer shopping recommendations. Below, I’m sharing my top ten favorite swimsuits from my collection, from flattering, splurge-worthy one-pieces to basic bikinis you’ll wear over and over again.

One of my most worn swimsuits by far is this ultra-flattering Gooseberry Intimates one-piece I bought after seeing it on Kendall Jenner. Not only is it the v-neck cut super sexy, but the compression fabric is also incredibly comfortable. It’s no wonder that celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Sydney Sweeney are also fans of the brand. For a one-piece with a sportier vibe, I love the classic black Fiji One-Piece from Andie Swim, available in sizes XS to XXXL, or the Hunza G Petra One-Piece. More of a bikini person? This ribbed Abercrombie bikini (with the matching bottom) is currently on sale for less than $30.

The J. Crew Smocked Bikini Top and String Bottom are also worth adding to your cart—and you can take 50% off when you enter the code JULY at checkout. Meanwhile, the compliments I’ve received on this sleek, sculpting one-piece from Tropic of C more than justify the splurge. (Plus, I’m obsessed with the dainty straps and buttery-soft material.) Playful prints are another element I look out for when bikini shopping, like this ditsy yellow floral bikini top.

Animal prints like this Frankies Bikinis leopard print bandeau and the Western-inspired cowhide bikini from WeWoreWhat, which I’ve been wearing every summer for five years now, exemplify early 2000s fashion trends . Finally, for a retro-inspired style, you won’t find anything cuter than the Solid & Striped Daphne Bikini. From the scalloped bra-style top to the ribbed fabric, this swimsuit is all about the adorable details. Most importantly, though, it’s the comfiest swimsuit I own.
