Kaia Gerber Wore Fluffy ’90s Hair to Recreate an Iconic Cindy Crawford Look

There are plenty of perks to being the spawn of one of the world’s most iconic supermodels. If you ask me, access to your mom’s closet tops that list. Clearly, Kaia Gerber agrees with me, as she just re-created one of Cindy Crawford’s most memorable looks, down to the diamonds and voluminous hair.

On September 12, Gerber attended the premiere of her new film, Shell, at the Toronto International Film Festival. She wore a white Herve Leger dress that was the spitting image of the custom gown her mom wore to the 1993 Oscars. In classic Leger fashion, the dress featured plenty of body-hugging panels, as well as a underwire cups and thick straps. She finished off the look with white pointy pumps and vintage jewelry from her mom’s collection.

But the similarities didn’t stop there, as Gerber’s beauty choices were fit for a ’90s supermodel. She didn’t copy the hairstyle her mom wore exactly—a half-up with tons of volume and cascading curls—but it had the same effect, with a modern twist. Gerber swept her hair into a voluminous side part with impressive height. The rest of her hair fell in glossy, soft curls, which looked exactly like her mom’s back in the day.

The rest of her glam was also a fusion of Gerber and Crawford. Gerber’s brows appeared more defined than usual, giving her makeup an early ’90s flair. She had a glowing base with some sculpting blush, a warm nude lipstick, and a bronzy eyeshadow look with a small wing. To tie it all together, she went with almond-shaped milky nails, one of both her and Crawford’s go-to’s.
