Magazines tend to pull out all the stops in an attempt to generate as much buzz as possible, with the unveiling of their all-important September offerings. Rightly so, right? After all, it’s the most anticipated issue of the year. At ELLE Czech, Barbara Häckelová brilliantly welcomes one of the Czech Republic’s most prolific and celebrated of models as cover star: Karolina Kurkova. The Czech-born beauty who hails from the city of Děčín (situated within the Labem Region) poses before the lens of Branislav Simoncik. In the chic and minimalist black and white portrait cover shot, Kurkova gazes down Simoncik’s lens wearing a crisp white shirt from Carolina Herrera, as chosen for the occasion by stylist Maria Kohutik.
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“No limit… except on the makeup and hair budget,” cried out GERGIN upon checking out the cover.
“A photograph of classic beauty ruined by those awful fonts,” sighed Srdjan.
In complete agreement over the art direction was oaklee91, commenting: “The fonts are definitely ruining it!”
“A truly gorgeous portrait of Karolina Kurkova. I’m kinda of the thinking that the simplicity of the shot, allows for the font choice. Your eyes immediately fixate on Kurkova, regardless of the questionable font,” reasoned vogue28.
“It’s a little crowded. However, Karolina Kurkova is one of those modeling legends and she doesn’t disappoint,” noted forum member Urban Stylin.
“Karolina Kurkova never lost her modeling skills,” marsnoop2 enthused in agreement.
