Kerry Washington’s Prim and Proper French Manicure Is So Chic for the End of Summer

No matter how many times it’s been done, the French manicure always gives a put-together feel to any outfit. Kerry Washington’s latest look is proof: The actor wore two different looks while stepping out in New York City, and her long French nails were the prim and proper cherry on top.

On Aug 26, Washington arrived at Good Morning America after making a special appearance at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago over the weekend. The 47-year-old has been booked and busy this summer, hopping from Paris Fashion Week appearances to events, and now she’s taking on her press tour for Season 2 of Hulu’s UnPrisoned. For the occasion, she opted for a ladylike two-piece set with a fittingly sleek manicure.

When you want a manicure that’s equal parts stylish and timeless, you opt for a French manicure, and that’s just what Washington did. This time, she swapped the typical French almond shape for a long coffin, which added a bit of oomph to the classic design. Her nails looked just like you’d expect: Glossy with a pink base and opaque white tips.

To add to the polished feel of the look, she swept her hair back into a perfectly tied slicked-back bun. Her pink peplum top and matching skirt had a cool floral marbling pattern throughout and hails from Prabal Gurung’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection that, once again, added to the ladies who lunch aesthetic of her outfit. She complimented the look with a pink top-handle bag, nude pumps, and brown sunnies.

Later on in the day, she changed into a green tweed dress courtesy of Oscar de la Renta with a matching crossbody bag from the brand. She popped on a few pieces of gold jewelry for a touch of shine and headed downtown.
