Lady Gaga’s Black and White Feather Mohawk Look: The Details

When Lady Gaga debuted jet-black micro bangs (her biggest hair transformation in years), earlier this spring, we knew something was bubbling under the surface. The outfit had quintessential Gaga performance art energy, complete with car parts and bleached brows. More importantly, It felt like a homage to Gaga’s iconic The Fame era of the 2010s. If Gaga 8 is out there somewhere, we’d wager that it will be just as memorable. Case in point: The “Bad Romance” singer arrived at her Las Vegas performance in a feather mohawk and quintessential Gaga glam.

Currently, the 38-year-old is performing an eight-night jazz performance at The MGM in Las Vegas throughout the rest of June and into July. June 20 was the second night of the series, and in true Gaga fashion, she arrived wearing head-to-toe feathers, with an especially jaw-dropping feathered updo.

There’s a lot to unpack here, but for starters, she kept her micro bangs and added chunky black highlights to her bright blonde hair. The bangs sat a few inches above her eyebrows and had one long strand at each end to frame her face. Her hair was wrapped into a pretty knotted updo, that from the side, illustrated her edgy highlighted hair. Adorned in her top knot was a black feather mohawk that added the perfect touch of Gaga extravagance.

Gaga wore multiple feather headpieces throughout the night. In another photo of the singer performing at the piano, a different black circular headpiece covered the back of her bun. And, in the first slide of her photo dump from the night, she’s wearing a white headband-like accessory with long white feathers. Of course, this meant lots of outfit changes, too. From long pink feather capes to sparkly rhinestone dresses, Gaga put her spin on Vegas showgirls.

Her makeup for the night also had an Old Hollywood vibe to it. A statement red lip, bleached brows, and slightly spooky feather lashes were all statements of her glam. Her complexion was glowy and radiant, and a soft-matte tan eyeshadow was the base for her graphic cat-eye eyeliner and bold lashes. Her lashes changed throughout the night, but at one point she donned long spider-like black lashes that cascaded down her cheek and into her eyebrows.

With multiple nights left to go in her Vegas performance, we’re (as always) curious to see what look and aesthetic she’ll try next. For now, we’ll be here listening to “Paparazzi” on repeat.
