There’s no doubt that Lady Gaga’s Harlequin and Joker era will be defined by her bright hair. For the UK premiere, the singer donned a cherry cola banged bob, she’s tried a faded red in a shaggy style, and now, she’s taking it to new, longer heights for the Los Angeles premiere.
On September 30, Gaga arrived at the Joker: Folie a Deux premiere in a sweeping black cape gown, courtesy of Celine by Hedi Slimane. A large floral diamond necklace wrapped around her neck, and when she walked down the carpet, she revealed her patent leather platform heels. The cherry on top of her look, however, was her new crimson lob.
Gaga’s been through many dramatic hair changes throughout the year—from long jet-black strands to Marilyn Monroe-esque platinum blonde—but her cherry-colored hair is arguably the most Lady Gaga-y of them all. The longer length showed off the bright color, which was still blended in with her darker roots towards her front pieces. It looks as though she blew out her hair and parted it to the side, and that was it! The bold color and new length took precedence over intricate styling or big details, leaving for a more laidback look than previously done.
Her glam was pretty relaxed, too. She kept her bleached brows and patent leather nails, opting for a soft-matte complexion with the tiniest bit of pink glow on her cheeks. Cat-eye liner was paired with a bronzy shadow, and her look was complete with wispy lashes and a dusty rose lip color.
Little monsters, what could her hair getting progressively longer mean? Is the new hair an Easter egg for the film? Is it just a sartorial choice? No matter the case, it seems as though Gaga’s supervillain style is just getting started.
