Lana Del Rey is typically pretty quiet on social media, so when the queen of coquette posts, we listen. For those not aware, Del Rey has been a fan of the feminine aesthetic since 2010, and has kept it a part of her signature style ever since. This applies to her nails, too. Her latest manicure was front and center on Instagram, and it’s oh-so-coquette yet low-maintenance, and perfect to recreate at home.
On August 12, the 39-year-old posted an end-of-summer photo dump on Instagram which flipped from photos of her hugging a tree, (love) to a low-key selfie. On the fourth slide, the singer debuted her latest set of perfectly sweet nails that encapsulate the warm and easygoing vibes synonymous with the end of summer.
On her naturally long, almond-shaped nails, Del Rey’s manicure was simply made up a sheer coat of polish and some coquette-inspired nail charms. Thats it! Each nail was painted with what looks like a clear base coat adorned with cute charms spanning diamond bows, pearls, and irridescent butterflies. No manicurist was tagged, and we’d believe if Del Rey crafted these nails herself (though it was likely the work of her go-to nail artist, Yoko Sakakura). The look can only be described as the most Lana Del Rey-esque manicure of all manicures—it was low-key but stunning, with lots of feminine flair.
Comments on the post were quick to point out her fun manicure. “Copying these nails brb,” one fan said. Another called out her aesthetic as a “Pretty southern witch,” and the second top comment asked if she was having a “Brat summer.”
In her makeup-free selfie, Del Rey wore a coquette-inspired hairstyle: loosely tied pigtails paired with a Prairie-girl dress. All of the photos had a country flair, perhaps as an easter egg to her upcoming country album Lasso. No matter the case, we’re here for her relaxed take on the coquette manicure and will be copying it throughout the dog days of summer.
