Subsequent to her very first issue as editor-in-chief, Kenya Hunt has meant business at British ELLE. Bold and impactful statements have been made via the magazine’s front covers, having welcomed a range of diverse and inclusive subjects as cover stars (including everyone from Hunter Schafer to Jodie Turner-Smith). Ahead of the release of Bob Marley: One Love, Hunt secures Lashana Lynch as the British fashion glossy’s February 2024 cover star. Via the lens of photographer Ekua King, the British actress rocks an emerald green look from Maximilian Davis’ Spring 2024 Ferragamo collection in the sharp and crisp cover shot, chosen specially for the occasion by stylist Donna Wallace.
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“Love everything about it. The black background is something,” admired matheus_s the moment the cover came to light.
“It’s very pleasant! Love the vibrant color of the outfit and the yellow title,” instantly approved Ihhbl.
Blueorchid was also full of admiration regarding British ELLE‘s art direction too, commenting: “A smart use of the Jamaican flag colors to promote the Bob Marley biopic. I always find myself surprised by how nicely ELLE UK and Harper’s Bazaar UK stand out on the newsstand (months) against Vogue UK after they arrive here.”
Yet not everyone, however, was so forthcoming. “Quite surprised at how warmly everyone appears to have taken to this cover, because I hated it almost immediately! I find the whole cover rather uneventful, bland and devoid of any sense of creativity. The sense of fashion is nonexistent and the cover photograph itself feels very… passport-esque. Not sold on this whatsoever,” disapproved vogue28.
Oaklee91 described the cover as “lovely” but do you agree?
