Lily-Rose Depp’s “Rich Beige Blonde” Hair Is Fall Perfection

Like many, I miss the Tumblr days—no app compares when it comes to delivering every kind of outfit and aesthetic inspiration you can think of. Whenever I see Lily-Rose Depp, one of the platform’s original muses, I always think of the numbers her current looks would do if the site was still as active, and her latest hair change would’ve been re-blogged in the millions.

Early in Sepetember, Depp’s glam team posted photos of her look for the Nosferatu press event in London to Instagram. In the photos, Depp is wearing a high-neck blue dress with her signature sultry sophisticated glam, but something about her blonde hair was ever so slightly different. Just in time for fall, Depp swapped her soft vanilla blonde for a new darker shade, courtesy of hair colorist Cass Kaeding. The inspiration? Rich.

“Lily-Rose is such a classic beauty,” Keading tells Byrdie. “I was really inspired to bring out her natural elegance with this color. It feels luxurious and gives off a bit of an old-money vibe.” Depp’s color looks like a perfect lived-in blonde: It has a mix of warm caramel and honey shades, with flecks of light browns blending together to create the prettiest natural hue. As such, Keading coined the shade a “rich beige blonde.” To complement the new color, hairstylist Peter Lux styled her hair in a sleek blowout which showed off her ’90s layers.

Makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench nailed the actor’s signature makeup look. Ffrench brought out Depp’s ’90s muse energy by crafting a rosy nude lip look, overlining her lips with a similar color. Depp wore a soft flush of pink on her cheeks and a pared-back smoky eye with wispy mascara to complete the look.

If you plan on taking a photo of Depp’s new hair to the salon for your next visit, Keading recommends asking for a “natural beige blonde.” It’s a “soft blonde that combines both ash and beige tones,” she explains. “It should be a bit darker at the root, then seamlessly blend into lighter golden beige hues toward the ends.”

“I suggest all my clients maintain coloring services with at-home upkeep,” Keading says. “K18’s Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask is a treatment that helps to repair damage from bleach, color, chemical services and more, ensuring hair is healthy and services last.”
