French manicures will always be a classic. Yes, the glossy white tips that make up the silhouette are synonymous with a certain put-togetherness, but part of the style’s longevity is due to its easily remixable base. Want to add gemstones? What about chrome? You can easily add a bit of personal flair while keeping the structure of the classic design. Case in point: Megan Fox added chunky gemstones to her Y2K-esque French manicure.
Fox often works with her go-to manicurist Brittney Boyce, and her latest set was no different. Boyce posted the look to her Instagram on July 15, and was met with a handful of gushing comments. “Love a good Megan mani,” said a commenter. “Obsessing” shared another.
The square-shaped mani allowed for ultra-chunky French tips that took up most of her nail space—it was very Y2K. Boyce kept the typical jelly pink shade for the base, and topped the nails off with a glossy top coat. Adding to the 2000s of it all were the chunky gemstones, three on each nail to be exact. Forming a constellation pattern, each nail was dotted with a trio of multicolored gems to add the final touch of over-the-top elegance to the look. The look was equal parts playful and unexpected, perfect for the likes of Fox.
Complimenting her chunky French manicure was a bevy of Fox’s fine-line finger tattoos that gave the look an added edge. Crafted by tattoo artist Sydney Smith earlier in the year, the designs ranged from minimalist dots to pretty sparkles.
Boyce’s press-on brand, Lost Angels, makes a manicure like Fox’s a simple add-to-cart click away. Add gemstones to the blue-chrome French design No Hard Feelings or try the Vibe Check style for a similarly studded style.
