Here at theFashionSpot, we’re all for magazines who champion and support homegrown talent. Whether it’s the likes of Kate Moss welcomed onto the cover of British Vogue or American beauties like Anok Yai and Christy Turlington taking the covers of Harper’s Bazaar. Make no mistake Paula Merlo gives a space for Brazilian talent over at Vogue Brazil. Models like Valentina Sampaio and Barbara Valente have fronted the title over recent months, with firm forum favorite Raquel Zimmermann added to the list for August 2024. The undisputed icon of fashion (who hails from Rio Grande do Sul in the south of Brazil) was last on the cover in June 2011. Thirteen years later, Zimmermann poses before the lens of Chris Colls, with stylist Rita Lazzarotti selecting a look from Nicolas Ghesquière’s Fall 2024 Louis Vuitton collection for one of the two covers.

“Give her a damn perm or a hair straightener please! Time for a change,” TomBlanksFullFatMiuMiu cried out.
“I used to adore Raquel Zimmermann’s work, but I can’t appreciate this natural Gisele-Alicia Keys look she forces recently. It just looks unfinished and lacks glamour, and it translates on these covers too. The closeup cover is very nice though,” commented Srdjan.
In complete agreement over Raquel’s look was marsnoop2. “Raquel Zimmerman is an icon, but all of her photos with Chris Colls look the same. The hair/makeup seem to be identical for every shoot!”
MModa voiced: “Raquel Zimmermann is a great model. I agree that this current hairstyle and makeup-free look is not working in her favor. My favorite is the closeup cover.”
“I don’t blame Raquel. She’s giving her authentic interpretation. The real problem here is Vogue Brazil’s frequent lack of vision and creativity,” defended forum member aguires.
