Saie’s New Lip Liners Are Creamy and Dreamy

We’re in the age of the status symbol lip product, where even your phone case can show off your go-to balm, oil, stain, gloss—you get the picture. Just as important (and equally as much of a status symbol, IMO) is the lip liner. Without it, there wouldn’t be Kylie Lip Kits, the era of overlined pouts, or TikTok hacks. As such, a new lip liner player has entered the chat: Saie Beauty’s Lip Liner 101.

To be an It liner takes a lot—it’s got to look good in an Instagram photo of receipts, lipgloss, and headphones sprawling out of your purse and feel good on the lips. Saie Beauty has mastered this art with its just-launched Lip Liner 101, which comes in the brand’s signature minimal packaging and has a hydrating, easy to wear formula.

The Product

After the success of Saie’s gloss-oil hybrid Glossybounce (with one sold every 90 seconds, according to the brand), it only makes sense that the brand would create a lip liner to pair it with. The wood pencil boasts a silky, nourishing, and blendable formula that enhances the natural shape of the lips with a soft matte finish. Lip Liner 101 is dropping with five core shades: French, a pink nude; Wink, a rosy nude; Flirt, a caramel nude; Twist, a mauve nude; and Tease, a plum-brown nude.

“I designed Lip Liner101 shades so you can mix and stack them with all the Glossybounce shades and I just can’t get enough,” said Saie’s CEO and Founder, Laney Cromwell.

The Formula

Of course, just like all of the brand’s products, Saie’s lip liners feature a skincare-first approach. The Saie Fatty Acid Complex, made up of meadowfoam and jojoba seed oil, allows the liners to melt into the skin, for an easy glide-on application that doesn’t tug or feather. Ingredients like mango seed oil and macadamia nut oil soften, hydrate, and nourish the lips, like a priming lip balm in a liner form. The liners are also formulated without synthetic fragrances, flavors, sulfates, or parabens, and are Leaping Bunny certified.

The Review

“I love Saie’s products and am currently going through a huge lip liner phase, so this launch couldn’t have arrived at a better time. Generally, I prefer a wooden lip liner over a twist up because they’re more precise, but sometimes they can be dry and draggy to apply. That was not the case with the Lip Liner 101, which is so creamy and easy to apply.

“However, despite the soft texture and comfortable feel, they have an impressive wear time and stay put through sips and snacks. The colors are also really pretty—my favorite is Flirt, a pinky brown—and don’t pull too orangey on my fair skin.
