Brown has always been the It Girl color of fall, but the shade has been having a particularly huge moment over the past few years, especially in the manicure department. Case in point? As soon we hit pumpkin spice season, Selena Gomez donned a toffee brown nail look, and her latest mani puts a shiny spin on the color trend.
The Toronto Film Festival took place over the weekend with a handful of stunning beauty and fashion moments featuring appearances from Lupita Nyong’o, Angelina Jolie, and manicure muse Selena Gomez. On September 8, Gomez arrived at a Deadline event to promote her upcoming film, Emilia Perez, wearing a shimmery bronzy nail look we’ll be copying all fall long.
Manicurist Tom Bachik crafted the multi-hyphenate’s latest nail look which put a twist on classic chocolate brown nails. Gomez tried on the shade on a long dainty almond shape that softened the edgy design. Her nails were painted a warm chocolate brown color but had a chrome finish that gave them a bronzy, orange reflective shine.
For glam, Gomez worked with makeup artist Hung Vanngo on a pared-back soft glam look. She wore a pink lip look with a soft nude satin lipstick lined with a smoky pink lip liner to create a cool contrast. Her eyes were painted with a flick of black winged eyeliner and paired with wispy lashes. The tiniest bit of pink highlight added a touch of shine to her otherwise soft matte skin. In the hair department, Gomez kept it simple with soft mermaid waves courtesy of Renato Campora.
The Only Murders in the Building star proves she can always make a trend her own, and her latest bronzy nails are just another example. Next time you want to try a brown manicure, elevate the shade with some shine to create a similar bronzed effect.
