The ESPY Awards is an annual celebration of the best and brightest in sports. Thousands of players spanning basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball and more come together for an evening celebrating athletic achievements. For the 2024 Espy Awards on July 11, Serena Williams led the charge in giving her peers (and those coming after her) their flowers as the host of the star-studded show.
Though the recipient of over 12 ESPYS, the 2024 show was Williams’ first appearance at the event, and all eyes were on her. So obviously, her nails had to be on point. Sreynin Peng is the celebrity nail artist who continuously blesses the tennis star’s nail beds, alongside other celebrities like Queen Latifah, Coco Jones, and Renee Rap. Natural-length, detailed, and well-shaped manicures are her bread and butter. For the legendary tennis player’s big night, she curated a chrome set.
Williams sported medium almond nails in a bronzed peach color. Peng added a chrome top coat for pizazz. All of the products were courtesy of CND. “Serena was so excited to finally make it to the ESPY Awards for the first time let alone host it!” wrote Peng on an Instagram story recap. “Being that she would have many looks tonight, she wanted to focus on her red carpet as inspo with a neutral tone and fired up with some chrome to finish highlighting her trim to the dress. She loved the final look.”
Williams walked the carpet in a black Armani Privé gown with peek-a-boo crystal embellishments along the neckline. She was lightly adorned in David Yurman jewelry. The entire look, styled by Kesha Mcleod, exuded maturity and elegance, which was fitting for the sports veteran. Her hair was styled in her usual ash blonde wig cut into a short, curled bob, though she transformed her hair many times throughout the evening. Of course, she wore bronzy, matte makeup by Sheika Daley who used Williams’ cosmetics brand WYN Beauty for the look.
