Taraji P. Henson’s Ombré Pearl Nails Are So Soft Girl

When Taraji P. Henson isn’t busy acting in critically-acclaimed movies, writing bestselling books, or launching new natural hair care products, she’s surely flaunting an over-the-top, detailed manicure. Last week, she wore seven different outfits and corresponding nail sets while hosting the 2024 BET Awards. As a now three-time host of culture’s biggest night and the largest celebration of Black contributions to entertainment, we expected nothing but greatness. Henson’s regular nail technician, Temeka Jackson, was responsible for the creative, intricate tips throughout the evening. “Nails is an art and on culture’s biggest night it was only fitting to not just have 1 ️nail look, but several,” she wrote in her Instagram recap of the evening.

All of Henson’s looks throughout the night were tens, from her gold chain dress on the red carpet to the all-black beaded couture moment during the show. A personal favorite of ours, though, was her pearl-studded mini dress. Let’s dive into the manicure she wore to match. 

Jackson put together a soft and elegant set to match the pearl dress using long, Gel-X stiletto nails. Of course, each tip boasted a different design with a pinky nude and sometimes ombrè base color. Jackson embellished a few of the nails with pearls to match Henson’s Retrofete mini dress and pearl accessories, while other nails were decorated with large blinged-out jewels. The celebrity nail artist was masterful with the placement of the embellishments, helping to compliment Henson’s full outfit instead of distracting from it. The neutral color of the base worked seamlessly with the look.

Henson was serving a modern version of a 16th-century royal with her soft pink nails, pearled mini dress, and sheer cape. Her hairstylist, Tym Wallace, styled her hair into a sleek, deep side-part bob that fell just under her jaw-line. Henson wore a sultry glam courtesy of Saisha Beecham, the celebrity makeup artist who is responsible for some of her most iconic beauty moments including Henson’s 2024 Met Gala appearance. The pearl moment was only her third outfit change of the evening. Henson and her team unveiled several other breathtaking looks throughout the show.
