This Burgundy Mascara Makes My Eye Color Pop Tenfold

Everyone has their own approach to makeup—for me, sleek and simple is the way to go. But, every once in a while I’ll choose to break out of my comfort zone. This summer, I’m upgrading my mascara to something trendy and non-traditional.

In an attempt to find a premium-quality product without breaking the bank, I turned to SHEGLAM. The brand just launched blue and burgundy shades of their beloved All-In-One Volume & Length Mascara. To take baby steps into my adventurous makeup era I opted for the deeper burgundy shade to make my eyes pop.

The Packaging

SHEGLAM does a great job in the packaging department. Each sturdy tube of the All-In-One Volume & Length Mascara has a colorful design that matches the shade of mascara, making it obvious what I’m reaching for in my makeup bag. 

Plus, the tube itself is dual-ended, with one side having a thick brush for volume and the other a thin, curved brush for length. This allows for complete customization: Use just one side for big, bold lashes or alternate between the two for full and separated lashes. As someone who almost always uses two mascara formulas to achieve this very result, it was an immediate plus when I first opened the box.

The Formula

Like most of SHEGLAM’s products, this mascara is vegan, cruelty-free (it’s Leaping Bunny approved!) and non-irritating to my sensitive eyes. The waterproof formula is also incredibly quick-drying, which helps keep it both smudge-proof and clump-free. The All-In-One Volume & Length Mascara also now comes in four different colorways: waterproof black, washable black, waterproof burgundy, and blue. This selection lets you pick and choose what type of formula and color suits you best—love how the deep burgundy shade truly makes my blue eyes pop.

The Price

Each mascara tube retails for just over $8. For a product as innovative as this—with a wide range of colors and a double-ended wand—this price point is almost unheard of.

The Application

Since I have short, flat lashes, I always use an eyelash curler as a first step. To start my revamped eye makeup journey, I reached for the burgundy shade to highlight my blue eyes. I started by applying a base layer of product using the volumizing side of the wand, before swapping in the thinner, lengthening side to comb through my lashes as a finishing touch. I paired my colorful lashes with a light pink eyeshadow and a golden shimmery eyeliner for a glam look.

The Result

As someone who has always stood by my standard black mascara, I was blown away by the All-In-One Volume & Length Mascara in burgundy. The shade is subtle enough for everyday wear, yet makes a noticeable difference in how much my eyes stand out. The formula also lasts all day without any smudging or flakes. At such an affordable price point, I’d say that this mascara is an essential product that everyone needs in their makeup bag.
