Come on, make some Noyz. That’s shorthand for “make some people ask you what perfume you’re wearing because you smell so nice and tell them it’s from Noyz,” FYI.
After bursting onto the scene in June 2024, the genderless fragrance brand, which specializes in “raw, real, and authentic storytelling,” has gone viral on TikTok, getting the stamp of approval from creators like Jake Shane, Madeline Argy, Tara Yummy, and more. Now, the brand is solidifying its presence in the market in the very best way: by launching solid scents. On September 27, Noyz’s The Solid Fragrance Pair is joining the five sprays already in their repertoire, bringing new light to two bestselling scents: the gourmand Unmute and fruity floral Love Club.
Ahead, everything to know about the new launch—including how it plays into founder Shaun Neff‘s vision for Noyz’s future.
The Inspiration
If something’s not broke, you’re not supposed to fix it. But you can expand upon the unbroken thing and create something similarly stellar.
“We chose to launch our Unmute and Love Club fragrances in a solid format because we wanted to create something that was not only innovative, but also adaptable to our consumers’ lives,” Neff tells Byrdie. “The Solid Pair brings the luxury of fragrance into a more personal, versatile experience. It’s about giving people the freedom to layer, refresh, or change their scent effortlessly throughout the day, all while being mindful of sustainability.”
A harbinger of future brand direction packaged in a sleek, refillable bullet, the new arrival also allows Noyz to cement their place in the industry.
“I see The Solid Pair as an opportunity for us to lean into testing new formats with our community to gauge demand for expanding fragrance into more of a lifestyle category—an area where we believe we’ll excel,” the founder adds.
The Formula
Even though traditional mist fragrances are currently way more popular than solids in a general-availability sense, there’s something to be said about how inspired the alternate format is. Besides transportability (as mentioned, the brand opted to case the solids in a single, swappable magnetic bullet—it’s about the size of your favorite lipstick—so you can choose what will find its way into your bag that day), you can easily apply them exactly where you want them.
Once dabbed “anywhere with a heartbeat,” the moisturizing balm warms to your body to release your chosen scent throughout the day. Both created by Robertet perfumer Jérôme Epinette, Unmute is “bold, unapologetic, and designed to inspire confidence” with notes of vanilla, black plum, and amber, while Love Club “captures a softer vibe” with Turkish pink rose, saffron, and ebony woods.
“We chose Unmute and Love Club for the launch of our solid format because these two scents truly embody the essence of NOYZ,” explains Neff. “Together, they offer the perfect balance—allowing you to switch between moods or layer them for something entirely unique. By starting with our bestsellers, we’re giving our consumers the chance to experience the versatility of solid fragrance in a way that feels both familiar and exciting.”
How to Use a Solid Perfume
While the easy answer here is “apply fragrance and go about your day,” you can have a little more fun with The Solid Pair.
“My favorite way to use the solid fragrances is layering,” says Neff. “I love starting with Unmute on my wrists for that bold vibe, then adding a touch of Love Club to balance it with something a little more personal. I’ll also switch up my scent throughout the day, and the solid format makes it effortless to carry and reapply.”
The founder adds that the best part of the solids is the “control you get” when applying them. That, and I’ll add the fact that they exist in general.
