Vogue Scandinavia has undoubtedly carved a niche out for themselves, ever since the inaugural issue was unveiled with Greta Thunberg back in 2021. Under the tutelage of Martina Bonnier, homegrown talent continues to be displayed via the magazine’s front covers, with cover stars having included the likes of Malaika Holmén, Elsa Hosk, Alicia Vikander, Tove Lo and Pernille Teisbaek. Bonnier’s latest cover accomplishment involves welcoming Vilma Sjöberg as cover star for February/March 2024. The Swedish catwalk queen who just walked the major shows of Helmut Lang, Altuzarra and Carolina Herrera during New York Fashion Week poses with an adorable, cute and cuddly feline companion in the charming cover image. Captured by Camilla Akrans and styled by Maria Barsoum, Vilma is dressed in an embellished dress from Sabato De Sarno’s debut Gucci collection for Spring 2024.

“Are we back in lockdown or is there something I don’t know?” immediately asked Urban Stylin.
“A model like Sasha Pivovarova could’ve pulled this off ” chimed in Scotty.
Valentine27 voiced: “I would have liked to see more of the dress and less of this (big) cat. The color of the dress seems to suit the overall tone and it’s a pity it’s not visible enough.”
“I love Vilma and I think the cover is okay. However, the photography is weird. Camilla Akrans was great during the 00s with her minimal glamour, but this is not working. Looks like a photography student experimenting,” dontbeadrag critiqued.
Nevertheless, not everyone felt the same way. “LOVE, LOVE Camilla Akrans!” forum member Gonzalo defended.
“One of their better covers,” appreciated oaklee91. “I happen to like it, it’s light and the cat is a very cute addition.”
“The lighting and coloring is indeed lovely, and while this doesn’t exactly rock my world, it’s beautiful and easy enough on that the eye that I cannot complain,” enthused vogue28.
