Zoë Kravitz’s Spiky Bun Is an Edgy Twist on a Summer Staple

Whenever Zoë Kravitz steps out of the house, we already know she’s going to turn a look. On August 19, Kravtiz and company continued promoting her new film, touching down in London for the European release. The director arrived in a sleek red Saint Laurent gown dripping in diamond earrings that were nothing short of elegant. The cherry on top? Her sleek spiky bun.

If you hate ballerina buns, the spiky bun might be your Hail Mary. Kravitz’s take on the hairstyle was crafted by stylist Nikki Nelms, and featured a slicked-back middle part and was swept up in a bunch of twisted knots. Tied together, the knots added some volume to her bun which left a few spiky single strands to the side. It’s as though the messy topknot got the red carpet treatment, and it’s the perfect mix of elegant and fun.

Kravitz’s makeup was pared-back and simple featuring fluffy brushed-up brows and a just-bitten red lip, courtesy of makeup artist Nina Park. To compliment her statement bun and low-key makeup were sparkly dangling diamond earrings from Jessica McCormack.

Kravitz’s directorial debut features her fiancé Channing Tatum in the leading role as a rich (but creepy) tech bro who owns his own island. Their red carpet appearance looked more like a professional date night with Kravitz in a silky red gown and Tatum in a nicely-tailored suit.
